Named Canada's Best Place to Live in Money Sense magazine in 2006, and known as the Tomato Capital of Canada, Leamington lays claim to many beautiful natural attractions including Point Pelee National Park which is a major site for migrating birds and the Monarch butterfly. Leamington deilights in the position of an agricultural community where many rare plant and species flourish. Located along the North Shore of Lake Erie, with a beautiful marina which offers a ferry to Pelee Island, excellent restaurants, and convenient shopping, Leamington's motto is Southern Latitude, Friendly Attitude.

The nearby community of Wheatley, 7 miles east of Leamington is known as the Freshwater Fish Capital of the World. Rondeau Park and Point Pelee National Park are within 30 minutes. Camper's Cove Campsite and Holiday Harbour are favourite destinations for campers. There is a public school and a family orientated arena with ball diamonds. Within the town of Kingsville, is the community of Cottam. This quaint hamlet has a real country home atmosphere from it’s wonderful fresh produce stands to it’s annual Horse Show and Tractor Pull held in the fall. Tourists from Toronto to Northern Michigan come to sample the BBQ and food booths, enjoy the home town parade and admire the local arts and crafts displayed.”
“With the same latitude as Northern California, Essex is one of the most productive counties in Canada for agriculture production. The products from this area include fruit, vegetables and world class grapes. Essex locally supplies consumers as well as many foreign markets world wide. Wineries which host wine tours through Colchester and Harrow also attract tourists with their sandy beaches and sunny climates. Known as the “Sun Parlour of Canada” or the “Garden Gateway to Canada” Essex County lives up to these titles.
